General Manufacturing Air Regulation

MGKF's air practice encompasses a broad range of industry sectors and air regulatory issues, including permitting, enforcement, emission quantification and control, toxic torts, regulatory development, and appeals. MGKF is experienced in all areas of local, state and federal air regulatory requirements, and has specific legal and technical experience in representing many types of industrial operations. In addition to our work for industrial sectors described elsewhere on our website, MGKF has represented clients in many industries in evaluating complex air matters, including the following:
  • container glass manufacturing;
  • scrap metal recycling;
  • stone block manufacturing;
  • concrete crushing, processing and manufacturing;
  • chromium electroplating;
  • medical device manufacturing;
  • paperboard manufacturing;
  • railroads;
  • battery manufacturing;
  • precious metal refining;
  • pre-cast concrete manufacturing; and
  • secondary aluminum processes.
In each of these representations, MGKF has offered its clients a unique blend of legal and technical problem-solving skills. We have evaluated air permitting requirements and helped our clients secure flexible permits. We have assisted our clients in interpreting and complying with federal New Source Performance Standards and National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants in the most cost-effective manner possible. We have represented our clients in defending state and federal agency enforcement actions, and have resolved such actions through both settlement and litigation. Understanding the demands of a manufacturing environment, we seek to preserve for our clients the operational flexibility to operate their facilities effectively, while maintaining positive relationships with their communities and regulatory agencies.
