Description:

Guest Speaker - NJDEP Assistant Commissioner Irene Kropp

On November 4, 2009, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection issued an extensive regulatory package addressing how the new Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) program will work. These regulations, which also address many issues beyond just the LSRP program, promise to transform the site remediation process. Anyone involved in site cleanup or brownfields development in New Jersey will want to know about their impact and be well-prepared to apply these new requirements and answer the following questions:

• Must I always use an LSRP?
• Do the regulations require an LSRP for transactional due diligence?
• What should I consider in hiring an LSRP?
• How can I avoid NJDEP direct oversight?
• Must I obtain a new permit for my cleanup?
• Can I still use a cap at a residential cleanup?
• Can I get an extension of the new mandatory time frames?
• How can I minimize the new fees and financial assurance requirements?
• When do the new vapor intrusion requirements apply?

Our breakfast program will help you better understand the LSRP process, when it does and doesn’t apply, and the principal features of the many new reforms and how they might radically affect the way you conduct your investigations and cleanups in New Jersey.
