ENVIRONMENTAL COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD FOCUSES ON "A CONNECTION TO YOUR COMMUNITY"  Two grants will be awarded: $5,000 each to a middle school and a high school to be used toward environmental programs. During the next few months, Wawa, NBC10 and the environmental law firm of Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP will be looking for school clubs, classrooms or teams who establish a worthwhile environmental community service school project that establishes a "connection to your community." The criteria for projects includes, but is not limited to: establishing awareness of our natural and historic resources, and/or promoting community service that focuses on environmental and quality of life issues. To qualify, schools must meet the following criteria:
The proposals from schools who meet the criteria above will be reviewed by a panel of judges from: Wawa, NBC 10, Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP, The Franklin Institute, Academy of Natural Sciences and representatives from Pennsylvania and New Jersey's Dept. of Environmental Protection and Delaware's Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
